The City has prepared an updated concept plan to convert Terwillegar Drive into a freeway between Whitemud Drive and Anthony Henday Drive. There is a proposal (North Section Option B) that is being presented that would limit our community’s access to and from Whitemud Drive in order to save money in the reconstruction of the Whitemud/Terwillegar interchange.
The entire study and survey can be found at the City’s website at https://edmonton.ca/terwillegardrivestudy
Everyone in the Greater Riverbend area and the city acknowledges our Bulyea Road/40th Avenue interchange as being the highest priority intersection to be upgraded on Terwillegar Drive. After waiting for over 40 years to have the interchange upgraded, we are disappointed and astounded they would float a design which removes so many of our entrance and egress options. Option B has enraged the stakeholders in our community; residents and businesses alike.
It’s important that we all take the survey that the City has offered. The survey speaks to four options for the development of Terwillegar Drive. Two for the North Section and two for the South Section. Before you take the survey, please study these options. It should be noted that once in the survey, you can move forwards and backwards in the survey to understand all the questions and context before providing your answers.
Brookview Community League (BCL) and the Brookview Community Association (BCAL) urge our residents to fill out the survey as often as they can. This is so important to our community that everyone in the household (husbands, wives, grown children, etc) should fill out the survey. Please note, the survey deadline has been extended to February 15, 2018.
For the North Section (our overpass at Bulyea Road/40 Ave):
For the South Section (the overpass at Haddow Drive):
After reviewing these options, please take the survey at https://edmonton.ca/terwillegardrivestudy. Please select Bulyea Heights as the name of our community.
Your opinion matters for the future of our community!
